Quick Gun Murugan the story revolves around the central character of a Tamil person and in this movie Director trying to give a message to the non-vegetarians to become vegetarians.
London Film Festival goers were in for something of a treat this year with Shashanka Ghosh’s feature Quick Gun Murugan: a print only a few days old with the director in presence. And as Shashanka describes it, it’s just a pretty normal Western… that just happens to be set in India.

Quick Gun, played by veteran star Dr Rajendra Prasad, is a righteous cowboy in a remote area of India in the early eighties, his skills with a gun are unequalled. When he comes between a local restaurant and a gang intent on making their menu ‘non-veg’, he discovers gangster Rice Plate Reddy’s (Nasser) plans to turn all the area into meat eaters. Quick Gun heads off to sort Rice Plate and his cronies out, but falls foul of his tree climbing assassins (think Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon with coconut palms, not bamboo forests).

But death can’t hold back a man on a spiritual mission, and God is definitely on the Vegetarians side. Quick Gun comes back with his garish costume and twin pistols intact to modern day Mumbai, only to find Rice Plate Reddy’s plans are on a much bigger scale: McDosas, a chain of restaurants that will have all India and then the world eating ‘non-veg’. To complete his domination, Rice Plate has created an automated machine to produce dosas on a mass scale, only the secret ingredient, a mothers love, stands between him and the success of his plan. Can Quick Gun, and gangsters moll and general ‘blonde’ bombshell Mango Dolly (Rambha), stop Rice Plate before he finds the ‘best mum in India’ to complete his recipe?

Shashank Ghosh had created this serial in that channel. However, in the film, Rajendra Prasad is playing the role of a person who preaches non-vegetarianism and supports vegetarians.

However, his main profession would be a cattle-rearer or cow rearer (or a Cow Boy). Rambha is playing opposite him in the film as heroine. Another speciality is that Nazar is playing the role of a fast food restaurant owner.

In the film, he would promote the non-vegetarianism and the one who promotes the sale of items made of beef. This low-budget film would complete its shooting in the next two weeks and is mainly aimed at screening in I-Max Theatres alone. Moreover, the film is said to be a total entertainer and at the same time a message-oriented movie.

The producers are of the opinion to make a sequel to this film after some time. It may be mentioned here that Rajendra Prasad is looking for opportunities to do different roles instead of routine characters.

This comment was proved right with the film ‘Aa Naluguru’. At the same time, Rajendra Prasad is doing yet another different role in his latest film ‘Prof. Rajaji’. And now the ‘Quick Gun Murugan’ would also fall in the same category.
The main theme of the film is said to be the fight between vegetarianism and non-vegetarianism. ‘Quick Gun Murugan’ vows to save cows because he thinks he is a cowboy whereas Nassar play the role of the owner of a fast-food restaurant that promotes beef eating. This western
slapstick comedy is being produced by ‘Phat Phish’

We know that veteran Telugu actor Dr. Rajendra Prasad is playing the title role in an English movie Quick Gun Murugan directed by Sashank Ghosh and produced by Anand Surapur under the banner of Fatfish Motion Pictures. Rajendra Prasad lets us in on the news that one of Hollywood’s top movie-production houses is distributing this film. The actor said that it’s a matter of great pride to be in a Hollywood film. Rajendra Prasad also promoted the film at recently held IIFA Awards at Macau. Malayali girl Anu Menon dons the female lead. Ramba will be seen as a vamp.

The film Quick Gun Murugan is an English film, but with a local backdrop. The story revolves around the central character of a Tamil person and the makers have presented the cowboy character in a latest style. A lot of adaptation and thought, however, went into modifying the cowboy-genre to suit modern sensibilities. My character wields the gun, jumps, flies around, rides and all of that.

Rajendra Prasad claims it is one of the most novel roles he has performed in his 32 year acting career. The film also stars Sandhya Mridul, Vinay Pathak, Raju Sundaram (who is called Rowdy MBA) and Ranvir Shorey (in a guest appearance). The shooting of the film is progressing in a fast paced manner and is likely to be completed soon.
